Nav Night Message: Ephesians Overview

Last Thursday I gave the message at our weekly Nav Night meeting. Since most of our Bible studies are on Ephesians this semester, our campus director Dave Wirgau asked me to give a message on that book, something that would be an overview of the entire book. I wanted to bring something to the table that the students probably weren’t getting in their study.

You can listen to this message online (embedded below), plus even more messages by me, other staff, and our student leaders on the FSU Navigators Podcast.

I decided to use Watchman Nee’s commentary Sit, Walk, Stand as the model of what I would share. Nee’s take on the epistle is that the book can be broken down into three parts: our position in Christ, our life in the world and our attitude toward the enemy. We sit with Christ in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6), we walk in a manner worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4:1), and we put on the full armor of God so that we can stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11).

Listen to it and let me know what you think.
